AAP councillors join MCD workers' strike

New Delhi Oct 6 ( UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillors today joined a strike by Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employees, intensifying a protest that has halted key anti-mosquito operations in the city for eight days.
The AAP claimed that strike involved approximately 5,200 Multi-Task Staff (MTS) and Contractual Field Workers, who are demanding equal pay for equal work, medical leave, and job security for their families in case of death. These workers are typically responsible for fogging, water-tank checking, and spraying to control mosquito breeding.
Led by Leader of Opposition in the MCD Ankush Narang, the AAP councillors expressed solidarity with the strikers and criticized the BJP-led civic administration for its handling of the situation.
