A. Suresh, former PA to Chief Minister V S Achuthanadhan attends Congress-led UDF's "puthuyuga yathra" at Palakkad

Palakkad, Feb 17 (UNI) A. Suresh of Malampuzha, who is the former Personal Assistant (PA) to the late Chief Minister and CPI(M) Politbureau member V S Achuthanandhan, attended the Opposition leader V D Satheeshan-led United Democratic Front (UDF) Puthuyuga Yathra in a public function held at Palakkad Stadium, on Tuesday.
Mr. V. D Satheeshan garlanded Suresh with a shawl when he later reached the dais in the evening.
Reports said that UDF may field Suresh in the Malampuzha assembly constituency as an independent candidate in the coming elections. Malampuzha is the stronghold area of CPI(M) and has a history of V S Achuthanandhan having won from this constituency.

AP: AINEF demands restoration of railway passes for journalists

Vijayawada, Mar 10 (UNI) The All India Newspaper Employees Federation (AINEF) on Tuesday demanded that the union government restore concessional railway passes for accredited journalists in the country.
In a statement, AINEF National Vice-President Chaladi Purnachandra Rao noted that the Railway Minister had announced the cancellation of concessional railway passes for journalists due to COVID-19 in March 2020, and the facility has not been restored so far.
