8 die from suffocation in cold chain vehicle in central China

Zhengzhou, June 17 (UNI) Eight people were confirmed dead due to suffocation in a refrigerated truck in central China's Henan Province early Sunday, a local investigation team said.
The eight people stayed in the insulated compartment of the vehicle, which was against regulations.
They were found unconscious when the vehicle arrived at a gas station at around 10 p.m. Saturday in Hongzhuangyang Township in Yexian County and were confirmed dead as of 3 a.m. Sunday after medical treatment failed, the team said in a statement on Sunday.
The vehicle driver and related responsible personnel have been detained, and the cause of the case is being investigated.
