79th Independence Day celebrated with patriotic fervour across Telangana

Hyderabad, Aug 15 (UNI) Telangana celebrated the 79th Independence Day on Friday with patriotic fervour and grandeur.
The main state-level celebrations were held at the historic Golconda Fort, where Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering.
Before heading to Golconda, the Chief Minister unfurled the tricolour at his Jubilee Hills residence and paid tributes at the Army War Memorial in Secunderabad.

Karnataka renews demand to scrap NEET, restore CET from 2026

Bengaluru, May 16 (UNI) Intensifying its opposition to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for undergraduate medical admissions (NEET-UG), the Karnataka government on Saturday urged the Centre to abolish the examination from the 2026 academic year and restore the powers of states to conduct their own Common Entrance Tests (CETs), citing repeated controversies, alleged paper leaks and growing distrust in the national testing system.
