6.6-magnitude earthquake strikes Indonesia's North Sulawesi, no tsunami threat

Jakarta, Apr 22 (UNI) A 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Indonesia' North Sulawesi province on Tuesday without triggering large waves, according to the country's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency.
The tremors occurred at 17:17 Jakarta time (1017 GMT), with the epicenter located 67 km southeast of Kepulang Talaud Regency at a depth of 107 km beneath the seabed.
The agency did not issue a tsunami warning, as the quake was not expected to generate destructive waves.
