5 killed as car plunges into river

Ratnagiri, May 19 ( UNI) Five occupants of a car were killed when the driver lost control of the vehicle, forcing it to plunge into the Jagbudi river in Ratnagiri district on Monday, police said.
The Ratnagiri police control room said that the accident took place when the passengers were going to Devrukh from Mumbai for a funeral.
The driver of the car was seriously injured.
It is reported that the deceased are residents of Mumbai. They were identified as Medha Parmesh Paradkar, Saurabh Parmesh Paradkar, Mitali Vivek More, Nihar Vivek More and Shreyas Rajendra Sawant, police said.
