47th All India Railway Women’s Kabaddi Championship begins in Secunderabad

Hyderabad, Oct 7 (UNI) The 47th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship for Women, organised by the South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) under the aegis of the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB), began today at the Railway Sports Complex Grounds in Secunderabad.
The championship was inaugurated by Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, South Central Railway (SCR), in the presence of Ms. Aroma Singh Thakur, President, SCRSA and Principal Chief Security Commissioner, SCR; Shri P. Koteswara Rao, General Secretary, SCRSA and Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer (Stores & Workshop); along with other senior Railway officials and sports enthusiasts.
A total of nine teams--South Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, Western Railway, Central Railway, Integral Coach Factory, North Eastern Railway, East Coast Railway, and the host South Central Railway -- are participating in the four-day tournament, which will run from October 7 to 10.

Wolfsburg sacks Simonis, name Bauer interim coach

Berlin, Nov 10 (UNI) VfL Wolfsburg dismissed head coach Paul Simonis with immediate effect following a string of disappointing results in the Bundesliga, the club announced.
The 40-year-old Dutchman departs less than four months after his appointment, with assistant coaches Peter van der Veen, Tristan Berghuis and Martin Darneviel also leaving. Under-19 coach Daniel Bauer, 43, will take charge of the first team on an interim basis.
"Parting ways with Paul Simonis was not an easy decision," said sporting director Peter Christiansen on Sunday.
