4 militants nabbed in Manipur; arms, vehicles recovered

Imphal, April 22 (UNI) Four militants were apprehended in two separate incidents and arms recovered during various operations in the last 48 hours. Two persons kidnapped by militants were also rescued, police said.
Sources said security forces arrested a militant from Imphal East district. In another operation, the state police arrested three militants from Sagolmang-PS, Imphal East district. Police said the accused were involved in kidnapping of two persons for ransom.
One .32 pistol along with one magazine loaded with five rounds were recovered from the accused.
Four IED-making material were recovered from Yangoubung and T Bongmol village, Moreh-police station, Tengnoupal district .
In another operation, one 7.62 SLR rifle with one magazine, 12 bore single-barrel gun, a sniper rifle with telescope and a pistol with two magazines were recovered from the foothills of Keirao Wangkhem village in Imphal East District.
The state police also recovered 16 vehicles in a special drive conducted for the recovery of stolen/snatched vehicles from anti-social elements. Tinted glasses were removed from 36 vehicles by the police in the special drive.
