30 Passengers have miraculous escape as bus catches fire

Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu Dec 20 (UNI) Thirty passengers had a miraculous escape, when an Omni bus in which they were travelling caught fire at Azhagapuri check post near Srivilliputhur, today.
Police said the bus was coming to Rajapalayam from Chennai. The passerby on noticing smoke emanating from the rear-side of the bus, alerted the driver. All the passengers got off the bus and within minutes the bus went up in flames.
The personnel of Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services department rushed to the spot. However, the bus was completely destroyed in the fire. The vehicular traffic on the busy Madurai-Tirunelveli Highway was severely affected for a couple of hours due to the fire accident.
