250 KW Solar power plant to be set up in Raja Khassa Solar Model Village

Indora, (Kangra) Oct 8 (UNI) Raja Khassa Gram Panchayat, which has earned the distinction of being the state’s first solar model village under the Prime Minister’s 'Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme', is set to take another major step towards energy self-reliance. MLA Malendra Rajan congratulated the villagers and announced that a 250-kilowatt solar power plant worth ₹1 crore would be established in the village. The project is expected to generate a steady annual income of up to ₹10 lakh for the panchayat, strengthening its financial position.
He said that the income from the solar plant would open new avenues for the development of the village, with the funds being reinvested in public utility projects. The initiative, Rajan added, will not only establish the panchayat’s identity in the field of green energy but also serve as a model of rural self-reliance and sustainable development.
The MLA said that Raja Khassa has set a new benchmark in the state. The “Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme” has brought recognition to the village as a solar model, and the state government is now taking this mission further by making panchayats greener and more self-sufficient.
