24 Indian Seafarers Rescued After Missile Attack on Tanker Off Oman

New Delhi, June 9 (UNI) Twenty-four Indian seafarers aboard a merchant tanker anchored off the coast of Oman were rescued safely following a missile attack on the vessel, thanks to swift coordination between the Indian Coast Guard and Omani maritime authorities.
According to official sources, the Indian Coast Guard's Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), Mumbai, received information around 2.20 p,m. on June 8 regarding an attack on the Palau-flagged tanker MT Marivex, which was carrying 24 Indian crew members and was anchored near Masirah Island in Oman.
Following the alert, MRCC Mumbai immediately established contact with the Oman Maritime Search and Rescue Centre (OMSC) and closely monitored the situation in coordination with Omani authorities and other stakeholders to ensure the safety of the crew.
