200 diseases related to consumption of unsafe food: Manipur Health Minister

Imphal, June 19 (UNI) Manipur Health and Information Minister, Sapam Ranjan Singh said on Wednesday that food safety is critical in everyday life as around 200 diseases are reported after consuming unsafe and contaminated foods.
He said the state Health Department is taking responsibility for providing nutritious and safe food products to the general public.
He said mass cooking and gathering while consuming foods is unsafe and may lead to an outbreak of many diseases. He stressed the need to raise food safety awareness among the public with slogans and ensure that the slogans are being followed by the public.
