2 soldiers, 15 terrorists killed in operations in NW Pakistan

Islamabad, Apr 27 (UNI) Two government soldiers and 15 terrorists were killed in separate operations in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Saturday.
Security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Karak, North and South Waziristan districts of the province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement.
Eight terrorists were killed during a clash between security forces and terrorists in the Karak district, said the ISPR statement.
In North Waziristan, four terrorists were killed, the ISPR said, adding that two Pakistani soldiers also lost their lives in an intense firefight with terrorists.
In another encounter in the South Waziristan district, three terrorists were killed, according to the ISPR.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed individuals, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities, the statement said.
Security forces remain committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country, it added.

New York, Jan 13 (UNI) A strike by nearly 15,000 nurses at several major New York City hospitals entered its first day on Monday after talks over a new contract collapsed, triggering concern among patients and their families about ongoing care, CBS News reported.
The strike began at 6 am EST on Monday at five privately run hospitals, including Mount Sinai, Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West and NewYork-Presbyterian facilities in Manhattan. Patients’ families said the absence of regular nursing staff has raised concerns about continuity and quality of care.
