15 lakh saplings planted across Manipur during Van Mahotsav: CM

Imphal, July 18 (UNI) Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday said that around 15 lakh saplings have been planted across Manipur within the last two weeks as part of the 77th Van Mahotsav Celebration 2026 and the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0 campaign.
Speaking at the State-level Green Finale held at the City Convention Centre in Imphal, the Chief Minister said the plantation drive was carried out jointly by the Forest Department, various State Government departments, security forces, civil society organisations (CSOs) and students.
Highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, the Chief Minister said the State's climatic conditions have undergone significant changes due to deforestation. He said the plantation programme was organised to raise awareness about the importance of planting trees and preserving the environment for future generations.
