14th Battalion of NDRF celebrates 21st Raising Day in Nurpur

Dharamshala, Jan 19 (UNI) The 14th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Monday celebrated its 21st Raising Day with enthusiasm and solemnity at its camp in Nurpur, Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.
A ceremonial parade was held on the occasion, led by Assistant Commandant (GD) Santosh, while the parade salute was taken by Rajneesh Sharma, Officer Commanding of the 14th Battalion NDRF.
Addressing officers and jawans, Sharma extended greetings on the Foundation Day and recalled that the NDRF was raised on January 19, 2006 under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. He said the Force was established to ensure prompt, effective and coordinated response to natural and man-made disasters, safeguarding life and property.

The accident occurred around 6 am on the Puranpur Road near Navadiya Manikant village, when the bus lost control and veered off the road before overturning.
