‘Space Gen: Chandrayaan’ trailer chronicles India’s journey from setback to lunar success

New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) The makers of ‘Space Gen: Chandrayaan’ unveiled the trailer for the upcoming series, offering a powerful preview of India’s historic ‘Chandrayaan-3’ mission to the Moon’s south pole.
Inspired by real events, the series chronicles one of India’s most remarkable scientific comebacks following the failure of the Chandrayaan-2 mission in 2019.
Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), the show stars Nakuul Mehta, Shriya Saran, Danish Sait, Prakash Belawadi, and Gopal Datt in pivotal roles and will stream on JioHotstar.
Sharing the trailer on Instagram, JioHotstar revealed an intense narrative that delves into the emotional aftermath of Chandrayaan-2’s unsuccessful landing.
The trailer captures the heartbreak faced by Indian scientists after losing contact with the Vikram lander, along with the scrutiny and criticism that followed.
It then shifts focus to the renewed determination behind the Chandrayaan-3 mission, set against challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic and international competition, including Russia’s lunar ambitions.
Lead actor Nakuul Mehta described the project as deeply meaningful. Calling it a “privilege,” he said the series reshaped his understanding of success and failure.
“This story isn’t about the moment the signal drops, but about what happens the morning after, when you still show up, take responsibility, and begin again,” he said, adding that portraying a character grappling with both failure and courage was a grounding experience for him.
Shriya Saran also spoke about the personal impact of the role, describing it as one that demanded quiet strength and emotional depth. “It made me reflect on the unseen sacrifices behind high-stakes ambition,” she said.

“‘Space Gen: Chandrayaan’ is not just about reaching the Moon, but about the people who carry that dream every day. It celebrates unity, resilience, and the collective spirit behind an extraordinary national achievement.”
‘Space Gen: Chandrayaan’ is set to premiere on JioHotstar on January 23.
