New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday greeted the people of Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Himachal Day, praising the state’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
In a post on X, Gandhi said, “Heartfelt greetings to all the people of the sacred land of Himachal Pradesh on its Foundation Day.”
He added, “Renowned for its breathtaking beauty and glorious traditions, may Himachal continue to move forward on the path of progress and prosperity.”
Himachal Day, observed annually on April 15, marks the formation of Himachal Pradesh as a province in 1948 following the integration of several princely states.
The state later attained full statehood in 1971, and the day is commemorated with official functions, cultural programmes and public celebrations across the region.
Often referred to as ‘Dev Bhoomi’ or the land of gods, Himachal Pradesh is known for its scenic landscapes, historic temples and vibrant traditions.
The occasion not only celebrates the state’s cultural identity but also reflects its journey of development over the decades.
Gandhi’s message comes as leaders across the political spectrum extended greetings to the people of the hill state, with celebrations underway highlighting Himachal Pradesh’s heritage and aspirations for continued growth and prosperity.
