‘Pictures of You, Pictures of Me’: Babil Khan’s moving tribute to Irrfan Khan

New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Irrfan Khan, one of India’s most versatile and beloved actors, would have turned 59 on Wednesday.
On the late actor’s birth anniversary, his son Babil Khan remembered him with a deeply emotional tribute that reflected love, nostalgia, and cherished memories.
Taking to social media, Babil chose to celebrate his father’s life rather than mourn his loss. He shared two rare photographs, one from his childhood and another from later years when Irrfan was still alive.
The first image captures a tender father-son moment, with a young Babil resting on Irrfan’s back, while the second shows the duo immersed in a candid, intimate conversation.
“Pictures of you. Pictures of me. (I used to say ‘sofa mode activated’ before I jumped on him and fell asleep on his back),” Babil wrote in the caption. The post struck an emotional chord with fans, who flooded the comments remembering Irrfan Khan and celebrating his extraordinary body of work.
Babil has often spoken about the profound bond he shared with his father, describing him not just as an actor but as a mentor, guide, and constant source of strength.
Earlier in 2024, Babil penned another heartfelt note in his father’s memory, writing, “You taught me to be a warrior, but engage with love and kindness. You taught me hope and you taught me to fight for the people. You do not have fans, you have a family, and I promise you baba I will fight for our people and our family till you call upon me. I will not give up. I love you so much.”
Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020, at a Mumbai hospital after battling a neuroendocrine tumour. Widely regarded as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema, he left behind an enduring legacy through critically acclaimed films such as ‘Life in a… Metro’, ‘The Lunchbox’, and ‘Hindi Medium’, among many others.
