"No scapegoating to protect ministers in Sabarimala gold theft case": AICC general secretary

Kannur, Jan 10 (UNI) AICC Organizing General Secretary and MP, K C Venugopal, today cautioned that no situation should arise where the arrest of Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru is used as a pretext to protect ministers involved in the Sabarimala gold theft case and asked the Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the case, to take note of this concern.
Talking to newspersons here, Venugopal demanded that the investigation reach all those involved in the case. He alleged that the State government had vested interests in controlling the probe and was attempting to restrain the SIT.
On the arrest of the Tantri, he said there was no conclusive answer yet to claims that he was framed, as the matter was still under investigation and before the court. However, he warned against making anyone a scapegoat to shield other culprits.
