‘Make in India, Make for the World’ pitch resonates at Riyadh Defence Show

New Delhi, Feb 10 (UNI) Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth held a series of high-level meetings with key Saudi defence officials aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation. In discussions with Dr Khaled bin Hussein Al-Biyari, Assistant Minister of Defence for Executive Affairs, on the sidelines of the World Defence Show (WDS) 2026, both sides focused on enhancing engagement and operational cooperation between the armed forces of India and Saudi Arabia.
Sanjay Seth led a high-level Indian delegation to WDS which was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on February 8-9. He joined international dignitaries to witness the opening ceremony of WDS and inaugurated the first-ever India Pavilion at the event, which showcased India’s manufacturing by Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and private Indian companies. The minister also visited the exhibition areas of Saudi Arabia Military Industries (SAMI) and the Ministry of Defence, Saudi Arabia, to review their latest indigenous technological developments.
Seth also met Dr Faleh bin Abdullah Al-Sulaiman, Governor of the General Authority for Defence Development (GADD), where he highlighted India’s rapid strides in defence innovation and exports and invited GADD representatives to visit Indian research and development facilities to explore opportunities for joint design and co-development of advanced defence technologies.
