‎India, France elevate ties to ‘Special Global Strategic Partnership’ with President Macron's visit

‎New Delhi, Feb 17 (UNI) India and France have elevated their bilateral relationship to a 'Special Global Strategic Partnership,' marking a significant expansion of cooperation across defence, technology, innovation, health, renewable energy and critical minerals during the State visit of French President Emmanuel Macron.
‎The announcement was made following delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, underscoring the deepening partnership that began as a strategic relationship in 1998 and has since broadened to cover the Indo-Pacific, climate action, space, civil nuclear energy and counter-terrorism cooperation.
‎To ensure sustained momentum, both sides agreed to establish an annual Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue to review implementation of the elevated partnership and the ambitious Horizon 2047 Roadmap, which charts long-term cooperation as India approaches the centenary of its independence.
