‎India deplores attack on Kandla-bound ship, calls for protection of commercial shipping

‎New Delhi, March 11 (UNI) The Indian government has expressed concern over reports of an attack on the Thai-flagged vessel Mayuree Naree in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the ship was en route to Kandla Port in India and reiterated New Delhi’s opposition to attacks on commercial maritime traffic amid the ongoing West Asia conflict. ‎
In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said it had taken note of reports regarding the incident that occurred on March 11. “We have seen reports about the attack on a Thai ship, Mayuree Naree, in the Straits of Hormuz on 11 March. The ship was bound for Kandla in India,” the ministry said.
