‘Gustaakh Ishq’ trailer unveiled: Manish Malhotra debuts film production

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) The makers of the much-anticipated romantic period drama ‘Gustaakh Ishq’, starring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, have finally unveiled the film’s trailer.
The two-minute, thirty-second trailer, shared by producer and ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra on Instagram, is laced with poetry and heartfelt moments.
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah plays a pivotal role as an Urdu poet, guiding Vijay Varma’s character in the nuances of Urdu poetry.
The story presents a soft romantic chemistry between Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, combined with shayari and touching gestures.
However, the story takes a somber turn when a loan shark confronts Vijay Varma over his strained finances, and the trailer concludes on a poignant note with Fatima Sana Shaikh’s character parting ways due to irreconcilable differences.
Directed by Vibhu Puri, the film features a stellar ensemble cast, including Sharib Hashmi, with music composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, lyrics by Gulzar, sound design by Resul Pookutty, and cinematography by Manush Nandan.
Speaking about his Bollywood debut as a producer, Manish Malhotra said, “My love for cinema began in childhood. The silver screen was my doorway to the world. Watching colours, clothes, music, and lifestyles unfold in cinema halls shaped my imagination and inspired me to become a designer.”
“Today, stepping into film production feels like my way of giving back to the medium that has given me everything. With Stage5 Production, the journey ahead is about embracing the unexpected; through stories, genres, and films that continue to surprise and inspire,” he added.
‘Gustaakh Ishq’ marks a new chapter for Malhotra, blending the magic of classic storytelling with the promise of contemporary Indian cinema. The film is set to release in theatres on November 28.
