'Be Mindful of Political Reality': Sunil Tatkare Responds to Jay Pawar’s 'Sunetra Pawar for CM' Remark

Mumbai, May 11 (UNI) In an apparent damage control exercise within the ruling Mahayuti alliance, NCP (Ajit Pawar group) State President Sunil Tatkare on Monday issued a cautionary response to Jay Pawar’s recent statement regarding his mother Sunetra Pawar’s potential Chief Ministerial candidacy.
Tatkare advised the young leader to remain grounded in "political reality" while navigating the party’s future.
The discussion began when Jay Pawar, the younger son of the late Ajit Pawar, expressed his desire to see his mother, current Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, lead the state. Speaking to the media in Baramati, Jay Pawar had stated: "It was the wish of all Baramitkara's that Dada (Ajit Pawar) should become Chief Minister. Now, Vahini (Sunetra Pawar) is working just as hard. I believe she will contest from Baramati in 2029, and it is our collective wish that she should occupy the Chief Minister’s post."
