₹1 crore cash seized from car in Rohtak; four detained

Chandigarh, Nov 11 (UNI) Haryana Police on Tuesday seized ₹1 crore in cash from a car during a routine check near Jalebi Chowk underpass in Rohtak. The money, mostly in ₹500 denomination notes, was found stuffed inside two backpacks carried by the passengers.
According to Shivaji Colony Police Station SHO Rakesh Saini, a police team was conducting a vehicle-checking drive following heightened security across the state in the aftermath of the Monday evening Delhi car blast. During the operation, officers spotted a white Swift car coming from Jhajjar that appeared suspicious when its driver attempted to speed past the checkpoint.
The vehicle was immediately stopped, and a detailed search was conducted. While nothing unusual was found in the car initially, police discovered bundles of ₹500, ₹100, and ₹200 notes inside the backpacks of two passengers sitting in the rear seat. Upon counting, the total cash amounted to ₹1 crore.
