Young Congress leader shot dead in Kanpur

Kanpur, Oct 9 (UNI) Shoeb Khan, a young Congress leader, was shot dead when he was trying to pacify the scuffle between two groups over money dispute in Chakeri area here on Wednesday.

Police sources here said Yashwant, father of Ravi was posted in Hasanganj police station in Unnao district. Ravi had given contract of his house construction to Prashant. They had some spat over money dispute few days back following which father of Prashant met with Ravi. But situation got worse and Ravi thrashed his father and detained him in his house.

After information Prashant along with his friend and Congress leader Shoeb Khan went to Ravi’s house. But heated arguments started from both sides and they started to hurl stones on each other. When matter escalated Ravi took his father’s rifle and opened firing in which Congress leader Shoeb died on the spot.

Police has registered the case and manhunt was launched to nab the criminals.
