Lucknow, Jun 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the mega piped drinking water project in Bundelkhand and Vindyachal region on Tuesday.
The project named as 'Har Ghar, Nal ka Jal' under Jal Jivan Mission will be launched by the CM in Bundelkhand to provide piped drinking water facilities to the seven districts of Bundelkhand and two districts of Vindyanchal.
The piped drinking water will also save the people from the bad health impact from arsenic and fluoride found in the underground water in this region, said a senior government official here on Monday.
In the first phase government will spend Rs 2,185 crore in which around 14 lakh population of three districts-Jhansi, Mahoba and Lalitpur in Bundelkhand region will get piped drinking water in the next two years time.
The entire project would cost over Rs 10,131 crores.
In December last, the UP government had selected four firms for conducting Detailed Project Report (DPR)for piped drinking water in nine districts of Bundelkhand and Vindyachal divisions, to be implemented in the first phase.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the government was ready to go for piped drinking water in the entire state, particularly in the arsenic and fluoride-affected areas.
The project, in nine districts of Bundelkhand and Vindhaychal region which includes seven districts of Bundelkhand and two of Vindyachal, the construction companies would be given authority for 10 years to manage the system.
