Work From Home by and large successful: Husys Survey

Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) City-based Husys Consulting survey has revealed that The Work From Home (WFH), implemented by IT & ITEs, Manufacturing, Capital Intensive and Allied industries and Modern and Online Retail industries during the nation-wide Coronavirus lockdown has been by and large successful.

About 58 per cent of the companies surveyed implemented 100 per cent, some could implement to the extent of 70 per cent and very few less than 50 per cent.

Lockdown impacted especially the Startups, SME’s in India with an impact of 60 per cent to 90 per cent for 350 Companies on day one & for significant 110 Companies the pandemic affected 100 per cent for organisations of more than 500 people.

As much as 72 per cent, CEO surveyed, felt that it was not appropriate to give paid leaves to employees during the lockdown as adviced by the government. Only 28 per cent mentioned it was appropriate to pay salaries to the employees during the lockdown.

During the survey, the Business Owners came up with top four suggestions to the Government like
government should pay employees PF and ESI for the month of March, April and May, to provide support to the industries by providing Rebate in taxes, reduce interest percentage, provide employees welfare activities and make sure utilities are available at controlled cost.

The government should pay 50 percent of Employee cost for MSMEs with turnover less than Rs 50 crore for shutdown period, 25 per cent for a period of 3 to 6 months beyond shutdown till business conditions improve, deposit of Rs 15 lakh to each family as promised by Prime Minister earlier or some of amount to combat next 6 months.
Smaller companies need access to easy loans from banks and NBFCs to rebuild their businesses.

These and more interesting observations found in a survey “Impact of COVID-19 on People and Industries” conducted from March 29 to April 29 by a Hyderabad based Husys Consulting Limited, a HR Function Management Company, Certified ISO 9001:2005 and headquartered in Hyderabad.
