UP Judoka wins bronze in Junior Asian championship in Beirut

Lucknow, May 16(UNI) An Uttar Pradesh Judoka, Krishna Faujdar, made the state proud by winning a Bronze Medal in 44 kgs weight category in the recently concluded Junior Asian Judo Championships at Beirut, Lebanon.
Indian has won a total of 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Medal in this championship were a 32 member squad from the country participated.
This championships was organised at Ghazi Club, Beirut, and nearly 350 players and officials from 20 nations had taken part.
Krishna won against Kirgizstan and Chinese Taipei but then lost her pool final to Uzbekistan.
Student of Judo Coach Sushma Awasthi, Krishna has won a Bronze in the Cadet Asian Judo Championships at Kerala and has won Gold Medal for UP for 2 years at the Junior National Judo Championships.
On returning back, Krishna was welcomed by UP Judo Association. She was felicitated by Sudhir Halwasiya, Vice President and Munawar Anzar, CEO in UP Judo Association’s Office on Wednesday.
This was informed by Aaesha Munawar, General Secretary, UP Judo Association, in a statement here on Wednesday.
