UP govt issues notification for renaming Mugalsarai railway station to Deen Dayal Upadhaya station

Lucknow, Jun 4 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has given a final approval to change the name of Mughalsarai railway station to Deen Dayal Upadhaya station after state Governor gave its approval on Monday.
The approval was given through a Government notification issued on June 4.
The centre had already approved the proposal to rename the iconic Mughalsarai railway station to Deen Dayal Upadhaya (DDU) station after the Jana Sangh leader who died in 1968 and body was found in Mughalsarai station. The proposal was given by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet in a bid to revive Upadhyaya’s legacy.
The centre had approved UP government's proposal on August 4, 2017.
BJP state president Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey has thanked state government for issuing notification to rename Mughal sarai railway station.
