Two drown in river at Kannur

Kannur, Apr 1 (UNI) Two members of a family including a six -year -old child, drowned in Bavali river at Kottiyoor near Kelakam, while bathing, on Saturday.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Lijo (32) and his son Nebin Joseph (6).
The incident took place around 1130 hrs. Lijo residing at Ottapilavu Chukkakunnu near Kottiyoor ,and his two sons had reached the Bavali river near Irratti Thodu side for bathing around 1100 hrs. Accidently, Nebin Joseph was swept away by strong undercurrents while swimming and Lijo tried to escape his son, but both of them died on the spot.
