Tripura police on way to arrest pro-Pak social media user from Bengaluru

Agartala, Feb 19 (UNI) A team of Tripura police left for Bengaluru this morning, with inputs from its Karnataka counterpart, to detain a youth who has been charged with making pro-Pakistan comments in social media after the killing of 42 CRPF jawans in Pulwama.
According to reports, with the instruction of Union Home Ministry, immediately after the gruesome terror attack in Pulwama last week, police across the country had been closely monitoring social media platforms, and several Indians were identified as Pak sympathisers from various parts of the country.
The Karnataka police found an anti-Indian post on facebook two days ago on the accused youth's profile. During investigation, the police learned that the youth was from Tripura, and had been working in Bengaluru. They located the person and brought him under security network, but did not detain him, said a senior police official here.
The Karnataka police contacted their Tripura counterpart yesterday and verified the details of the accused, which established the claim that the youth under Karnataka police's scanner belonged to Tripura, the official said, adding that Bangaluru police watched his activities and movement for last three days.
All apparatus were put in place to restrict his movement and eliminate any attempt to flee. Meanwhile, a team of Tripura police left for Bengaluru this morning to bring him to the state for further investigation. The state has slapped him with charges of sedition and anti-national activities.
