Agartala, Jan 31 (UNI) The police arrested three persons suspecting their link with the killing of a tribal leader of ruling BJP youth front early Saturday and produced them to local court, seeking their custody. However, the prime accused of the crime Jaimani Chakma, neighbour of the deceased is still on the run.
According to reports, unidentified assailants had shot dead 36-year-old Kriparanjan Chakma at his residence in Jalchandra Karbari Para village under Manikpur police station in Dhalai district in North Tripura when he was sleeping.
The incident ahead of the election to autonomous district council has spread tension across the state.
