Three more test  positive for COVID-19 in UT : Minister

Puducherry, May 23 (UNI) Three more persons tested positive for Coronavirus in the Union Territory on Saturday taking the total number of active cases to 26, Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao said.
Talking to news persons, the Minister said one person each from Vadamangalam, Kurumambet and Velmurugan Nagar here were tested positive for the virus during sample tests.
All of them had contacts with the patients already in the government medical college, Mr.Rao said.
The three were admitted to the Government medical college here.
Meanwhile, the lone lady being treated at the Karaikal government hospital was discharged this morning and the number of patients being treated presently are 25, he added.
Of the 25 patients, 22 are being treated at the Government medical college here, one in Jipmer, one at a hospital in Chennai and another one in Kannur medical college, he said.
The patients being treated in hospital at Chennai and in Kannur Medical College in Kannur hail from here and they have been included in Puducherry Census.
Mr Rao said since the last two or three days there are three or four positive COVID-19 cases reported in UT and this is mainly due to the arrival of International passengers and workers from other states.
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy had convened a high level meeting today in which the issue would be discussed and the next course of action will be chalked out, the Minister added.
