Puri (Odisha), July 10 (UNI) A three-member panel has been formed to investigate the causes of the incident where Lord Balabhadra tumbled down while being taken in a pahandi procession from the Taladhwaj chariot by the servitors on Tuesday night.
The servitors were escorting Lord Balabhadra from the chariot through the Charamala (a traditional ladder fixed to the rathas to facilitate the disembarkation of the deities) during the pahandi when the mishap took place injuring about a dozen servitors.
The three-member committee, comprising an additional district magistrate, a temple deputy superintendent, and a revenue officer, will probe the incident and submit a report within ten days of the Niladri Bije (the closing ritual of the Car Festival) to the Jagannath Temple Managing Committee.
