New Delhi, Sep 22(UNI) The Rajya Sabha on Tuesday returned to the Lok Sabha a bill that seeks to provide various reliefs in terms of compliance requirements for taxpayers amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Taxation and Other Laws (Relaxation Amendment of Certain Provisions) Bill, 2020 was moved for consideration of the House by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Replying to a discussion on the Bill in the Upper House, the Minister said the ordinance was necessary to defer various compliance deadlines under GST and Income Tax (I-T) Act during the COVID-19 pandemic.
