Thane civic employee death - Union demands Rs 1 cr compensation, action on erring officials

Thane, Jun 1 (UNI) The death of a civic employee of the Thane Municipal Corporation just a few hours before his retirement due to the coronavirus has led to the Civic Union on Monday to raise several questions over the entire episode.

In a letter addressed to Municipal Commissioner Vijay Singhal, president of the Municipal Labour Union Ravi Rao said that the employee was to retire from his service in TMC Thane on Saturday. He couldn't do it peacefully instead TMC forced him to lay his down his life.
