Telangana receives 46 pc excess rainfall in water year 2020-21

Hyderabad, May 3 (UNI) During the water year 2020-21, Telangana has received 46 per cent excess rainfall as compared to normal annual rainfall up to April-2021.
In a release here on Monday, State Ground Water Department said that the state received actual rainfall of 1283 mm against 877 mm of normal rainfall up to April 30, 2021 and it ranges from 885 mm (Nalgonda Dist) to 2116 mm (Mulugu) and thus there is a 46 per cent excess rainfall during this period as compared to normal annual rainfall up to April-2021.
Twenty seven districts namely Kamareddy, Suryapet, Peddapally, Nalgonda, Khammam ,Sangareddy, Medak, Sircilla, Yadadri, Vikarabad, Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Karimnagar, Medchal, Jangaon, Nagarkurnool, Mulugu, Bhadradri, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Warangal (R), Siddipet, Mahabubnagar, Warangal (U), Jogulamba (Gadwal), Narayanpet and Wanaparthy (+20 pc to 131 pc) received Excess rainfall and remaining six districts received Normal rainfall (-16 to 5 pc).
