Taliban official threatens to kill Americans with seized US weapons after Washington’s detention accusation

Kabul/Washington, March 10 (UNI) Responding to the US designation of the Taliban as a government that has wrongfully and illegally detained American citizens, a Taliban official in northern Afghanistan has threatened to kill Americans using the very weapons seized from US forces following the group’s 2021 takeover, raising tensions between Washington and Kabul to new heights.
Ataullah Zaid, the spokesperson for the Taliban governor in Balkh province, issued the warning on Tuesday through a post on X directed at US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"You once brought us to our knees here. If you wish to do so again, we are ready, and we will give you a devastating response," Zaid wrote. "Do not forget that we will kill you with your own weapons—the very weapons we have acquired."
