Aligarh, Nov 19 (UNI) Six people were killed and ten others injured after being crushed by a speeding truck, police said on Monday.
According to Police superintendent (city) Atul Srivastava, a Farukkhabad depot bus was on its way to Delhi on Sunday, when it's headlight stopped working at around 2230 hrs at the highway going towards Bulandshahr. When the driver stopped the bus on the roadside to fix it, several passengers alighted from it and were waiting on the road side. Meanwhile, a speeding cantor truck crushed them before ramming the bus.
While five people, including a woman, were killed on the spot, ten others were injured. One of the injured passengers succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Among the injured four have been identified as Ravikant (23), Jojan Begum (28), Ashish Kumar (23) and Madhu (28). The identities of two others are yet to be ascertained.
Six among the injured have been admitted in Aligarh hospital and four in Bulandshahr, Mr Srivastava said, adding that the condition of few remains critical.
