Spain detects monkeypox outbreak linked to tattoo salon

Madrid, July 25 (UNI/Sputnik) Authorities in the autonomous region of Andalusia in southern Spain have found a connection between a monkeypox outbreak and a local tattoo salon, Spanish media reported.
According to the Europa Press news agency, health authorities in the San-Fernando municipality in Cadiz province have detected at least 12 monkeypox cases linked to one local salon specializing in tattoos and piercing.
The salon has been inspected and shut down as a preventive measure, the report said. The authorities have initiated an epidemiological investigation into the disease outbreak and are looking for people who have been in contact with those infected.
