Jakarta, Aug 19 (UNI) Indian shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar opened India's medal tally by securing a Bronze medal on Sunday in the 10 meter air rifle mixed team event at the 18th Asian Games being held here.
Indian pair won a bronze medal with a total of 429.9 and clinched a third spot in the five-team final.
This is the first medal of India in the Asiad.
Chinese Taipei's Yingshin Lin and Shaochuan Lu won gold with a score -- and Games Record -- of 494.1 while China's Ruozhu Zhao and Haoran Yang finished with a silver, scoring 492.5.
The duo gave a good start in the finals and was on the second position for a long time. But after 34 shots, they slipped to the third place. After 38 shots, the Indian pair reached the second spot with China at 390.2, but at the end, China defeated India at the third spot.
