Shankar Mahadevan,Tomorrow’s India join forces for 'My Country, My Music' project

New Delhi, July 11 (UNI) Music knows no boundaries and heeds no barriers.

With such a philosophy, music maestro Shankar Mahadevan and Tomorrow’s India have planned to collaborate together to bring the best of India’s folk music to this nation and the world.

Termed as ‘My Country, My Music’, an exclusive Shankar Mahadevan initiative, Tomorrow’s India opens up the grand stage to this project at its Tomorrow’s India Global Summit Edition IV to be held in New Delhi on October 6, this year at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.

An initiative of Global Social (India) Foundation – a not-for-profit organization, Tomorrow’s India is working towards ushering a promising future for the world’s largest democracy.

In the very beginning of 2018, Tomorrow’s India launched its campaign with an ode to every individual, every Indian to participate in the great revolution of building an India of the Future.

The organization’s awareness and participation campaign took off at Gurugram’s Cyber Hub before travelling to Connaught Place, Kamla Nagar and Noida’s KidZania.

Apart from showcasing its various other initiatives, namely iHeroes and iFuture, through this campaign Tomorrow’s India requested every individual to take a pledge and follow it--all adding up to a promising future for the nation.

In merely 30 days of connect, Tomorrow’s India reached more than four lakh people with over five thousand entries for the campaign. For every pledge made, Tomorrow’s India donated one rupee to one of three causes – eradication of child labour, improving health & sanitation and bettering children education - as chosen by the participant.

The grand crescendo of this entire exercise is planned to be held on October 06, 2018 at the fourth edition of Tomorrow’s India Global Summit - an event that lets all imagine, ideate and innovate.

An effort to raise awareness and charity for the three chosen causes. This event will be graced by eminent personalities like author Amish Tripathi, veteran actress Shabana Azmi, tech evangelist Tanmay Bakshi, celebrated chef Manish Mehrotra, renowned designer Ritu Beri and many more, who will inspire the nation with their words of courage and stories of inspiration in their respective verticals.

The night will further witness an exceptional performance by Shankar Mahadevan.

Shankar Mahadevan, with his ‘My Country, My Music’ concept, which brings in musicians cutting across the length and breadth of India, will eliminate many barriers that this nation and its nationals perceive. Further, the night dedicated to the brave hearts of the Indian Army, will witness a new definition of India’s unity – the musical unity in diversity.

The performance will also attempt for an Asian Record as this will be the first time ever in Asia that a live Musical Tribute will be paid to the Indian Army and their marked victories.

With such initiatives and thoughts that spearhead India’s leap to its future, these Ambassadors of Change will usher in a new Tomorrow for all. Thus, will be India’s journey to Tomorrow’s India.
