Srinagar, Mar 30 (UNI) The Shab-e-Baraat was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety in the Kashmir valley, where no night-long congregational prayers were held in main shrine and other worship places amid fresh wave of COVID-19 and continued detention of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq.
Some religious organizations and people have questioned the cancelation of night-long congregational prayers on the occasion when thousands of people, mostly without wearing masks and maintaining physical distance, are visiting tourist places, particularly Badamwari in the downtown.
However, devotees joined night-long prayers in local mosques in their respective areas though majority of them offered special prayers in their homes.
