Seven new COVID 19 cases in Assam; tally at 266

Guwahati, May 23 (UNI) After the state recorded the biggest spike in COVID 19 positive cases yesterday with 49 detections yesterday, seven more cases have been reported this morning in Assam.
The overall COVID 19 tally in the state now stands at 266.
State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed through Twitter that all the new patients are in quarantine.
He wrote: "Alert - Seven people are found to be COVID 19+. 6 of them are from Hojai but are in Sarusajai quarantine centre. One is from Dhubri but in quarantine."
Out of the 266 positive cases in the state, 54 have recovered and four others have died so far.
With people returning from outside the state, the state government had cautioned of rise in COVID 19 positive cases, making quarantine mandatory for all returnees.
