Sepoy Rohin Kumar cremated with full military honours

Hamirpur, Aug 1 (UNI) The last rites of Sepoy Rohin Kumar of Punjab regiment, who was killed in shelling by the Pakistani forces in Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, were performed with full military honors at a crematorium near his native village Galore Khas.
Cousin (son of Uncle) of the deceased soldier lit the pyre, amid slogans of 'Pakistan Murdabad' and 'Shaheed Rohin Kumar amar rahe'.

Several people attended the final rites of the soldier, making it difficult for the police to control them. The highly-agitated persons demanded strong action against Pakistan.

Jawans of Punjab regiment reversed their arms and fired in the air to give their final salute to the martyr.

Earlier, the body was brought to the village in a vehicle of the Indian Army. Hundreds of youngsters accompanied the coffin to the village from NIT, Hamirpur, where the body landed in an Army helicopter. The body was received by the senior district officers and workers of both BJP and Congress.

Sepoy Rohin was killed, when Pakistan opened heavy fire on forward posts along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Saturday.
Kumar, resident of Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur district, was a brave, highly-motivated and a sincere soldier, a government Spokesperson said here.
He said the nation will always remain indebted to the soldier for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty. He was posted in the 14th Punjab regiment in 2016 and his father worked as a Halwai in Amritsar.
Meanwhile, HP Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur, former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, former HP Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhoo, other leaders and senior activists of both BJP and Congress mourned the sad demise of Sepoy Rohin Kumar.
In separate messages, they have termed him a great fighter and said that his sacrifice would be remembered forever.
HP Congress chief Kuldip Rathore will visit the house of the martyr later this week, to console his family, a Congress Spokesperson said here.

War against COVID-19: MP’s grim body count rises to 1,048

Bhopal, Aug 12 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 1,048 on Wednesday in Madhya Pradesh where 15 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 41,604 as 870 new sufferers were detected during analysis of 20,679 samples.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight gave the number of active cases as 9,317. Indore District spawned this day’s highest 169 instances thereby taking its individual aggregate to 9,069 of which 6,076 have recuperated and 337 succumbed. Bhopal’s corresponding statistics are 91; 7,961; 6,072 and 232.

Roadmap will be mantra for MP’s self-sufficiency: CM

Bhopal, Aug 12 (UNI) Comprehensive action will be executed in the spheres of education, health, transport, employment, potable water, tourism and infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh and this quantum of work will pave the way towards a self-reliant state, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasised on Wednesday.
“On an extremely encouraging note, I wish to point out that national-level participation was witnessed during webinars conducted from August 7 to 11 and a substantial number of superior suggestions received from subject experts. In Madhya Pradesh’s interest, these crucial inputs are being included in the roadmap. Ministerial groups were constituted to prepare a draft of the plan. Reports to be submitted by these units shall be finalised subsequent to discussion with the National Institution for Transforming India Aayog,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying.

MP Govt to launch Sahyog se Suraksha drive as ‘chakravyuh’ against COVID-19

Bhopal, Aug 12 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is scheduled to launch a Sahyog se Suraksha Abhiyan on Independence Day having the principal theme that only cooperation plus support can help us emerge victorious against the novel coronavirus and we should firmly resolve to scotch the contagion.
Government departments, voluntary organisations, trade bodies, religious leaders and public representatives will participate extensively in the campaign to be conducted in collaboration with all sections, an official release said on Wednesday.
