Senior journalist Pohare detained at Nagpur Assembly for separate Vidarbha state protest

Nagpur, Dec 12 (UNI) Senior journalist and long-time Vidarbha state advocate, Prakash Pohare, was detained by security personnel at the Nagpur Vidhan Bhavan today after staging a protest demanding a separate Vidarbha state.
Pohare reportedly shouted slogans near the assembly steps, declaring that “Vidarbha must become separate immediately” and criticizing Maharashtra as “bankrupt”. Security staff initially attempted to persuade him to stop, but he continued, prompting his detention.
While being escorted to the main security office, Pohare addressed the media, stating that Maharashtra’s debt has reached Rs 10 lakh crore, making development in Vidarbha impossible.
