RS passes Bill for fixing term of Chairperson of National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Disabilities

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday passed a Bill that provides for fixing term of the Chairperson of the National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism and other Disabilities.
The National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation & Multiple Disabilities (Amendment) Bill, 2018 was passed by the Rajya Sabha amid uproar by members of the AIADMK, DMK and CPM demanding protection of Cauvery Delta farmers.
Amid the uproar, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu called for taking up the Bill, which seeks to fix the tenure of the Chairperson and members of the Board of the National Trust to three years.
