Rs 7.50 lakh crore to deposit in farmers account in next 10 years under PM-KISAN Yojana: Modi

Hazaribagh, Feb 17 (UNI) Prime minister Narendra Modi today said under the Pradhan
Mantri Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana a sum of Rs 7.50 lakh crore would be deposited
in the accounts of 12 crore farmers of the country in the course of the next 10 years.
Addressing a packed Gandhi Maidan located at Matwari here during which he
inaugurated medical colleges in Hazaribagh, Dumka, and Palamu and laid foundation
stones for four 500 bed hospitals in Hazaribagh Dumka Palamu and Jamshedpur and
a host of another public welfare and development schemes,he said, the Kissan
Samman Nidhi Yojana would help the farmers to buy agricultural equipments seeds
and fertilizers and free them from the clutches of the middle men and the loan sharks.
He said the scheme would benefit 12 crore farmers in the country which would also
include 22 lakh farmers from Jharkhand.
Mr Modi said both the central and the state governments were working for making
the farmers free from the middlemen and ensuring that the money for ration pension
and even scholarship is given through the DBT in the bank accounts.
Enthused by the huge turnout at the venue, the Prime Minister said that previously
also he has visited Hazaribagh but every time he comes the the turnout of the people
breaks the previous records.
He said it is this blessing of the people who turn up in large numbers which gives
him strength to work day and night for their betterment.
Mr Modi said that Jharkhand was the land of revolutionaries.
He said that Bhagwan Birsa Munda and many other freedom fighters from
Jharkhand have made their contributions during the nation's freedom struggle
movement.
The Prime Minister also paid his respects to Bijay Soreng who was martyred in
Pulwama and saluted his family.
" His children are bravely fighting the situation and as an indebt nation it is our
responsibility to look after the family of the martyrs as guardians," he said.
Adding further the Prime Minister said that Jharkhand also witnessed the launch
of the world's largest healthcare scheme Ayushman Bharat which has benefited
people across the length and the breadth of the country and in Jharkhand too
57,000 people were treated under the scheme.
Mr Modi said recently he had witnessed a report in the media according to
which the second big tumor operation in the country was performed in Jamshedpur
under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
He said the central government in collaboration with the state government was
working to improve the health care facilities in the country and the opening of three
new medical colleges in Jharkhand in a single day was a result of such efforts.
The PM said that the opening of these three new medical colleges will not only
give the youth an option to study but would also improve health facilities in the
state.
The Prime Minister said that health is related to drinking water and cleanliness
and the government was trying to provide clean water to the people and in
Jharkhand alone work was being done on 350 schemes for drinking water he said
adding that on this day 11 projects have been inaugurated and foundation laid
which are spread cross Hazaribagh Ramgarh Palamu and West Singbhum district
which will help to bring hundreds of hectares of land under irrigation.
Mr Modi said that recently he had visited Palamu during which he had laid
foundation for the pending works of the Mandal dam project and the North Koyel
project and the completion of all these projects will help to ensure a bright future
for the farmers of the country.
The prime minister said that farmers who have registered under e-NAM have
been provided with cheques to buy mobile phones today and under this scheme
27 lakh farmers would benefit in Jharkhand.
He said the farmers through the use of the mobile phones will benefit in digital
transactions, see weather conditions, learn new techniques in farming and get
directly linked with the schemes.
