Rohan Khaunte inaugurates International Blockchain Congress

Panaji, Aug 5 (UNI) Goa Minister for IT and Revenue Rohan Khaunte inaugurated the International Blockchain Congress organised by National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog in collaboration with Department of Information and Technology, Government of Goa, and Nucleus Vision International at Inox in the city on Sunday.
Mr Khaunte at the interactive session said Goa being a small state with good connectivity was the right place to kick start blockchain.
Goa is right in time to catch the latest technology and was very serious and committed to look at new enabling systems, he said, adding the government was working very closely to ensure good governance and to make Goa as the destination for It hub in the world.
A lot of policies were framed to get good talents in the state, he added.
He said things like Blockchain was required for good governance.
''Blockchain is like a public registry of what happens, who owns, who transact, medium where all information comes together... The best part of blockchain in good governance is required in today’s world as it collects data, builds layer and it doesn’t erase the past,'' he said.
''International blockchain Congress aims to bring together renowned speakers and thought leaders to deliberate on how we can make India the next blockchain capital of the world,'' he added.

MP CM condemns attack on scribe

Bhopal, July 5 (UNI) Describing the assault on a city-resident senior journalist as extremely unfortunate, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan averred on Sunday that persons perpetrating such offences shall not be spared.
“Those responsible have been arrested and law-enforcement authorities instructed to take uncompromising action as such incidents cannot be accepted in civilised society,” the senior leader was officially quoted as saying.

Kill Corona drive going full steam ahead in MP

Bhopal, July 5 (UNI) Arrangements are underway for treatment of sufferers identified during a door-to-door survey under the ongoing Kill Corona campaign in Madhya Pradesh.
It is heartening that the general public is playing a supporting role along with officers and other employees associated with the crusade. As many as 1,776 teams in urban areas and 8,975 in rural ones are operational. Patients with symptoms of seasonal maladies are also being pinpointed. In excess of 11,000 samples were collected and a population of more than two crore covered, an official release said on Sunday.
